Airmen from the 241st Engineering Installation Squadron and Soldiers from the 230th Signal Company came together in Chatoosa, Georgia, May 9th to perform joint training. The 241st EIS Airmen provided training on heavy equipment needed to dig trenches for installation of fiber optics and other communications services.

Tennessee Soldiers and Airmen to help with Hurricane Recovery

Maj. Gen. Jeff Holmes, Tennessee’s Adjutant General has announced that Tennessee Governor Bill Lee authorized the deployment of roughly 1,200 Soldiers and Airmen from the Tennessee National Guard. This is being done to support response and recovery efforts for Hurricane Ian, which is expected to make landfall in Florida on Thursday.  

Guardsmen that will possibly be needed are currently being notified through their respective commands and will be preparing to assist the Florida National Guard with post-hurricane recovery and debris removal.
