Area County Unemployment Rates

New data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development show unemployment increases in nearly all of Tennessee’s 95 counties in January. Ninety-four counties experienced some level of increase during the first month of the year.
Coffee County had its biggest upward jump in several months, going from went from 3.3 percent in December to 3.9 in January.
Bedford County rose from 3.4 to 4 percent.
Franklin County went up to 4.1 percent in January from a December rate of 3.4 percent.
Lincoln County had one of the largest jumps in the state going from 6.1 percent to 7.5, which is the highest in the state.
Moore County went up from 2.9 to 3.5 percent.
Warren County’s unemployment rate for January was 4.6 percent, which is an increase from the December rate of 3.7 percent.
Grundy County went from 3.9 to 4.8.
Cannon County went from 2.7 to 3.2 percent.
Williamson County had the state’s lowest unemployment rate at 2.5 percent.
