Burn Ban Continues in Tullahoma after Fire Near the Tennessee Corrections Academy

Last week, the Tullahoma Fire Department responded to a hay field on fire behind the Tennessee Corrections Academy.

Upon arrival, it was determined quickly that the fire was spreading rapidly. A complete department response was initiated for all shift and off-duty personnel.

Mutual aid was requested from the North Franklin Volunteer Fire Department for their brush unit. This fire was contained quickly to prevent the spread to adjacent sage fields that would endanger nearby dwellings and the Correction Academy.

Remember, the City of Tullahoma is under a burn ban until we receive significant rainfall.
