In a game you heard LIVE on93.9 The Duck the Tullahoma Wildcats cashed in on early miscues from Lawrence County to split the district series with a 7-2 win Tuesday night at Grider Stadium.
Tullahoma scored 4 first inning runs thanks to a sacrifice fly and a trio of Lawrence County errors to jump ahead early on the 8-3A leading Cats.
Lawrence County pulled with in three at 5-2 with a run each in the third and fourth but Tullahoma responded with a pair of late insurance runs and Evan Tomlin was affected in long relief to secure the victory. Tomlin shut out the Cats and surrendered just one hit while walking three and striking out one in 3.2 innings of relief to pick up the save.
Joe Duncan led the way for Tullahoma with a 2-3 performance at the plate scoring a run as well. He was named co-player of the game along side Colton Emory who was 1-2 at the dish with a pair of walks and 2 RBI.
DJ Dillehay was also 1-2 with a pair of walks and 2 runs scored.
Cannon Emory got the start for Tullahoma on the mound and picked up the win holding Lawrence County to two runs on four hits while striking out 3 and walking two in 3.1 innings of work.
Tullahoma, now 12-11 on the season and 3-5 in district play, will participate in the Crethan Hansert Tournament this weekend, They host Moore County Thursday at 5:00, visit Coffee County Friday at 7:15, LIVE on 93.9 The Duck and host Smyrna Saturday at 1:00.
Lady Cats shutout by Marshall County
The Marshall County Tigerettes put up four second inning runs to separate themselves from the Lady Cats of Tullahoma Tuesday night in district action at East Middle School in Tullahoma. Marshall County scored at least one run in each of the first 5 innings the secure the victory.
The lady Cats struggled defensively behind pitcher Katie Bean who went the distance in the loss as just two of the nine Marshall County runs were earned.
The loss drops Tullahoma to 1-14 overall and 1-6 in district play. The Lady Cats host Lawrence County Thursday at 6:00, you can hear the game LIVE on 93.9 The Duck!
