Coffee County Baseball Opens Season with Tough Loss to Riverdale

The Coffee County Red Raiders opened their high school baseball season on Monday as they hosted Riverdale at Powers Field.

The Warriors used 11 hits and were issued 8 walks by Raider pitchers to pick up the 15-6 win. Liam Goodhart had 3 and 4 RBI to lead Riverdale.

Coffee County got 2 hits, an RBI and 2 runs scored from second baseman Colter Neal. Brenden Sheppard and Nate Rutledge added 2 hits each. Cole Pippenger had a 2-RBI double for the Raiders.

Coffee County will travel to Siegel on Thursday. The first pitch is set for 6 PM.

Rooster 101.5 will provide coverage of Coffee County softball on Thursday as the Lady Raiders host Cascade. Rooster’s first baseball broadcast will take place on Tuesday, March 12 as the Raiders take on LaVergne 4:30 at Riverdale in the Grand Slam Classic.
