Coffee County Falls to Nolensville in the State Tournament, next up Farragut on Wednesday at Noon

Tuesday afternoon was a duel between two great pitchers in the TSSAA Class-AAAA state softball tournament.

The Nolensville Lady Knights were just a little bit stronger at the plate in a 3-1 win over the Coffee County Lady Raiders on Tuesday. Nolensville scored all three runs in the top of the 6th.

Rylan Smith was the winning pitcher for the Knights. The senior Western Kentucky signee had 19 strikeouts in the game, giving her 407 for the season. She allowed one hit, an RBI double by Kaitlyn Davis in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Davis took the tough loss for the 27-8 Lady Raiders. She only allowed three runs and struck out five Nolensville batters.

Coffee County will take on Farragut (32-6) at noon at Star Plex Field #1 on Wednesday. The Lady Admirals lost to Arlington 6-3 on Tuesday. The winner will play at 6 PM at Star Plex Field #2, and the loser’s season will come to a close. You can hear all the action on The Rooster 101.5, www.rooster1015.com, or the Rooster 101.5 app.
