Coffee County got play started on Saturday morning in the Warrior Classic in Murfreesboro against South Gibson.
After the first inning, the Lady Raiders trailed 2-0, and then after an inning and a half, South Gibson led 14-0. Coffee County never rally and fell 15-3.
Chesnie Cox led Coffee County Central Varsity Lady Raiders with two hits in three at-bats.
In their second game of the day, Coffee County defeated Floyd Central Highlanders from Indiana.
The Lady Raiders got on the board in the first inning. Willow Carden grounded out, scoring one run, and Paisley Campbell homered in the third inning.
Kaitlyn Davis earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Coffee County as she allowed two hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven.
Chesnie Cox, Campbell, Jalyn Moran, and Madison Pruitt had one hit each for the Lady Raiders.
Coffee County will begin play in a tournament in Gulf Shores on Monday.
