August Lynch pitched five strong innings on Monday night as the Coffee County Middle School Red Raiders defeated North Franklin 3-0. Grayson Sadler picked up the save.
Monday was opening day for middle school spring sports.
In softball action, Franklin County was able to get past Coffee Middle 12-11.
Franklin County scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to win the first game of the year.
Both teams hit the ball very well, as the Rebelettes managed 13 hits, and the Lady Raiders had 12. Coffee County’s Maggie Montgomery had the best night with 4 hits, and she knocked in 3 runs.
On Tuesday, the Coffee Middle ladies had the bats going again as they beat Blackman 15-4. The Lady Raiders had 13 hits. Maggie Montgomery blasted her first home run of the year. Cara Newlin and Taylor McBride had 4 RBI each.
Kaylee Buckley got the win in the circle as she pitched all 5 innings in the run-rule game. and she had 4 hits.
