County Unemployment Rates Fall in December

Nearly every county in Tennessee ended 2023 with lower unemployment, according to new data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). Ninety-two of the state’s 95 counties posted rates in December that came in lower than their November statistics.

Moore County continued to have the lowest unemployment rate in the state, with a rate of 2.1%, down from 2.4% in November.

Bledsoe County had the highest rate of unemployment in December at 4.8 percent, down from 5 percent in November.

Area Counties:

Bedford 3.5 in November, 3.0 in December

Coffee 3.5 down to 3.1%

Franklin 3.8 fell to 3.3%

Grundy was 4.1 in November, falling to 3.7 in November

Lincoln 3.2 to 2.7%

Warren 3.8% in November, down to 3.3% in December
