Extra Inning Loss is Raiders’ First of the year

A walk-off fly ball left Coffee County with their first loss of the year at Smyrna on Thursday night.

The game was tied at two with the Bulldogs batting in the bottom of the eighth when Donovan Peebles’s sac fly scored one run for a 3-2 win.

Landon Baggett earned the win for Smyrna. The pitcher surrendered one run, struck out four, allowed no walks and no hits in over four innings of work, striking out four.

Jayden Fellers took the tough luck loss in relief for Coffee County. The lefthander surrendered only one run on two hits in one and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Aiden Robertson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Red Raiders in hits.

Coffee County (7-1) will play on the road at Riverdale on Saturday at 3 PM. The game against Tullahoma in Manchester set for Friday was canceled. The Raiders will travel to Shelbyville on Monday for a district game against the Eagles beginning at 6 PM.
