Last week On Target News was contacted by the owner of Hi-Tech Fab, Inc. in Shelbyville concerning a legal issue with a former employee.
On Friday, Carissa Lynna Chapin, 38, of Tullahoma, pleaded guilty to a Class B felony of theft and will serve 60 days at the Bedford County Jail while paying restitution of $100,000 by Sept. 12 and serving eight years on probation.
Over an extended period of time, Chapin was accused of using the company credit card for personal use. Forging the owner’s name on checks, paying herself for several weeks of unapproved vacation time, Amazon purchases, and more.
