On August 4th, 2023, the Franklin County Sheriff’s office began investigating a complaint of inappropriate behavior by a former Franklin County School System employee. As a result of the investigation, Kristi Jolynn Whelan was arrested on August 6th, 2023, for the following charges:
- Solicitation of a Minor (Solicitation of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure) X2
- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor X4
- Purchasing Alcohol for a Child X4
- Dissemination of Smoking Paraphernalia to a Minor
Whelan was released after posting a $50,000.00 bond. Her court date is November 18th, 2023.
