Man Arrested After Rash of Auto Burglaries in Shelbyville

For the last several weeks, the city of Shelbyville has experienced a rash of auto burglaries.

On Tuesday, because of proactive police gained a very important lead, which led to the arrest of Ernest Lee Feinstein.

Feinstein, who had been previously charged in 2016 with approximately 12 counts of auto burglary and is currently out on parole, confessed to the recent auto burglaries. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with 10 counts of auto burglary, 1 count of burglary, 9 counts of theft of property, possession of Schedule II drugs as well as unlawful possession of a weapon.

The Shelbyville police department would like to remind its citizens to remove valuable items left in their vehicles overnight and be sure to always lock their doors.
