The Franklin County Department responded to a report of a stolen ambulance in Winchester on Monday night. Deputies were notified that the vehicle was traveling East on I-24, but units could not locate the vehicle.
Later officers in Marion County located the ambulance, and the vehicle was stopped on Chasey Simpson Road on an interstate overpass at Exit 155.
A standoff lasted around four hours as the ambulance driver, Cameron Seisan, was armed with a pistol and threatened suicide. Marion County Sheriff’s Department requested mutual aid from several neighboring departments, and members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s also made their way to the scene to assist with the situation.
Seisan was taken into custody without injury and transported to Erlanger Health in Chattanooga for treatment.
Seisan will face charges in Marion County when he is released from the hospital. Charges are pending in Franklin County.
