No Charges after Fatal Shooting in Warren County

On Friday night, April 28, 2023, at approximately 9:52, Criminal Investigators with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a shooting at 109 Brown Rd in Morrison.

Upon conducting a thorough investigation, it was determined that Jerry Lynn McCormick (Age 60) had been shot in the chest one time. McCormick appeared to quickly pass away as a result of the gunshot injury.

Jordan Blake McCormick was identified as the shooter. However, further investigation clearly established that Jordan McCormick held an honest and reasonable belief that the actions and behaviors of Jerry McCormick posed an imminent threat of serious bodily injury or death to Jordan McCormick and another family member.

As a result, no charges were brought against Jordan Blake McCormick in connection with the shooting death described.
