Last week, Robert Allen Mowry, a 53-year-old man from Tullahoma, was convicted by a Walker County, GA, jury for the 1994 murder of James Richard Harris, a 54-year-old man from Chickamauga, Georgia.
Harris had been struck in the back of the head and strangled to death during an apparent robbery.
The two men work together for a company in Ooltewah at the time of the murder.
A tip in 2009 to law enforcement in Walker County led to the possibility of Mowry being the person who committed the crime. It took ten more years to retrieve DNA that could not be tested in 1994 to become available to assist in getting a conviction.
Mowry (pictured) was 22 years old when the murder took place. He was sentenced in Georgia to serve the rest of his life in prison.
