On December 17, 2019 country music superstar and Tullahoma’s own Dustin Lynch performed a benefit concert at the South Jackson Civic Center.
For the 6th year, Lynch and his buddies raised money for area charities. Over $30,000 was raised this year.
Money from this year’s event will go to the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center and Isaiah 117 House.
Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center
The mission of the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center is to serve children who are victims of severe abuse through prevention, education and intervention. Our vision is for a community where children are safe, families are strengthened, and victims are healed. The center received $18,000.
Isaiah 117 House
When children are removed from their homes out of the concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children’s Services Offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and sometimes without extra clothing.
Isaiah 117 House serves Coffee, Franklin and Grundy counties with a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait-a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide them clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. Isaiah 117 House also received $18,000.
By the way, Dustin Lynch will release his new album, simply named “Tullahoma” on January 17.
