3-Vehicle I-24 Crash Tuesday Morning in Coffee County

On Tuesday (Dec. 14) morning at 8:30 a.m. a 2018 Ford Mustang driven by Dana Meares 50 of Riceville. TN and a 2002 Chevy Suburban driven by Henry Davies 63 of Nashville, TN were traveling eastbound on I-24 near the 109 mile-marker in Coffee County.

The Mustang was in the right lane and attempted to change lanes into the left lane and clipped the Suburban and both vehicles lost control. The Suburban came to rest on the eastbound side of I-24. The Mustang crossed the median and struck a 2004 Cadillac Escalade in the westbound side of the interstate before coming to a rest.

Meares was injured in the accident, but Davies was not.

The driver of the Escalade, Juan Esparza Rivera, age 41 years old passenger Juan Esparza Rivera and passenger Alma Ibarra De Essparza age 36 years old, both of Winchester TN. were injured.

All three people that were injured were transported to hospitals via medical helicopters.
