Lady Cats win 9th straight, Wildcats Drop Another Close Contest

The Tullahoma Lady Wildcats pushed their win streak to 9 with a 55-39 win over district rival Lawrence County Tuesday night at home. Tullahoma turned in one of their most complete performances of the season playing tenacious defense and hitting 10 threes. Lilly Melton scored 15 off the bench to pace the Lady Cats. Alivia Bowen (14) and McLayne Bobo (11) also fished in double figures and Lucy Nutt hit three timely triples to finish with 9 points. Katie Criswell led Lawrence County with a game high 16 points.

The win improves Tullahoma to 12-7 overall and 3-0 in 8-3A play. The 9 game win streak is the longest since the Lady Cats won 11 in row between November 26th and January 7th of the 2019-20 season. Lawrence County fell to 14-5 overall and 1-2 in the district.

In the nightcap Tullahoma battled for the full 32 against an athletic Lawrence County team, however the Cats again struggled to convert offensively down the stretch and Lawrence County heated up from three to pull away for a 59-49 win.

Deandre Jenkins paced Tullahoma with 14 points while T.J. Gobble led Lawrence County with a game high 15.

The loss drops Tullahoma to 5-14 on the season and 0-3 in 8-3A play. Lawrence County improves to 18-3 overall and 2-1 in the district.
