On Thursday afternoon, the Coffee County Red Raiders took on Warren County in a loser’s bracket game in the District 6 Class 4-A tournament.
The Raiders jumped to a 6-0 lead after one inning thanks to a 3-run homerun from Carter McKenzie and a 2-run shot by Dayne Crosslin. Coffee County added two more runs in the fourth when Cole Pippenger singled in two runs. Aiden Robertson doubled in a run, and Trey Turner scored on a wild pitch to end the game on the run rule, 10-0.
Robertson threw six complete innings, allowing only two hits, walking four, and had three strikeouts.
Weather permitting, Coffee County will play again on Friday at 6 PM in Winchester against Franklin County who lost to Shelbyville on Thursday night. Shelbyville will play the winner on Saturday for the championship.

In the opening game of the district softball tournament, the Coffee County Lady Raiders quickly finished off Franklin County, ending in the third inning due to the run rule. The Lady Raiders defeated the Rebelettes 17-2.
Willow Carden and Kaitlyn Davis had a grand slam each in the second inning. Coffee County scored 15 times in the inning.
Carden finished the game going 2-for-3, scoring twice, and had 6 RBI. Davis was 1-for-2, scored once, and knocked in 4 runs. Chesnie Cox had one hit, scored two runs, and 4 RBI. Jalyn Moran had two hits and 2 RBI.
Davis was the winning pitcher. She went two innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. Lily Norman pitched one inning in relief.
The Lady Raiders will host Warren County on Friday at 6 PM. The Lady Pioneers beat Shelbyville 15-5 behind Alyssa Mosley’s five hits. Weather permitting, you can hear Coffee County softball on Rooster 101.5, www.rooster1015.com, or the Rooster 101.5 app.
