Coffee County High School Student Nominated for Emmy

Solomon Reynolds, a senior at Coffee County Central High School, has been nominated to compete for an Emmy in the category of Best Public Service Announcement (PSA). His PSA is about a topic that is relevant to his peers, distracted driving.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has a national and state competition for all categories of filmmaking for college and high school level students. This program is in addition to the award of “professional” contributions to television. The award presented to the winner in each category is otherwise known as the Emmy, an award given and presented during the show of the same name.

Each state nominates three competitors in each category of film making. The nomination list came out early April 2022 and out of the nominees, a winner will be selected (to compete at the national level) at the end of April. The national competition is held in October.
