COVID-19 Active Cases Drop in Tennessee, but Rise in Coffee and Multiple Surrounding Counties

The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed additional cases and deaths related to COVID-19 across the state on Wednesday, August 5.

The health department reported 1,657 new cases, bringing the state to 114,098 total cases.

TDH also confirmed 27 additional deaths, bringing Tennessee up to 1,144 total deaths.

Out of the confirmed positive cases, 75,550 have recovered, an increase of 2,291 recoveries.

Tennessee currently has 37,404 active cases.

*Bedford County: 11 died; 890 confirmed/probable cases; 647 recovered; 232 active cases

*Cannon County: 0 died; 131 confirmed/probable cases; 82 recovered; 49 active cases

*Coffee County: 2 died: 448 confirmed/probable cases; 207 recovered; 239 active cases

*Franklin County: 4 died; 296 confirmed/probable; 170 recovered; 122 active cases.

*Grundy County: 2 died; 104 confirmed/probable; 72 recovered; 30 active cases

*Lincoln County: 1 died; 259 confirmed/probable; 139 recovered; 119 active cases.

*Moore County: 0 died; 53 confirmed/probable; 30 recovered; 23 active cases

*Rutherford County: 53 died; 6,254 confirmed/probable; 3,529 recovered; 2,672 active cases.

*Warren County: 4 died; 454 confirmed/probable; 229 recovered; 221 active cases
