The STEM lab at Decherd Elementary was damaged by fire late Friday night, according to a post by the school on social media.
The damage was contained to the STEM lab. There was some smoke in the rest of the wing of the school.
The school said that approximately $70,000 in technology was destroyed in the room where the fire was located.
Smoke damage from the fire has not yet been determined, but the school added that the smoke spread through 5-7 rooms.
School officials said clean up and repairs to the wing will take place before school begins on Aug. 9.
