We have an update on the five children taken away from their parents in Coffee County after a traffic stop and misdemeanor drug charges. After nearly two months, the children were returned to their parents on Thursday, April 13.
Bianca Clayborne and Deonte Williams from Georgia traveled through Coffee County on Interstate 24 on February 17, when their lives changed quickly.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol pulled them over for having windows that were allegedly too darkly tinted and for using the left lane without actively passing.
Later, Williams was arrested for a misdemeanor drug charge, and Clayborne was issued a summons on a drug charge. The couple’s five children, traveling with them, were taken into Department of Children’s Services custody at the Coffee County Jail while Clayborne was waiting to bond out Williams. The children range from ages four months to seven years.
The couple’s attorney did not release any details about the case but did say a press conference is being planned soon.
Tennessee Holler first released information.
