Coffee County baseball picks up District win versus Columbia Central

Griffin Meeker threw a gem on Thursday for Coffee County Red Raiders, allowing zero runs and besting Columbia Central by a score of 3-0. 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Meeker struck out eight, while Columbia Central pitchers sat down six. 

One bright spot for Columbia Central was a single by Konner Bowden in the first inning. 

Meeker pitched the Red Raiders to victory. The righthander allowed six hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. 

Luke Uselton took the loss for Columbia Central. The hurler allowed seven hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three. 

Coffee County Red Raiders tallied eight hits. Braden Brown, Brady Nugent, and Lane Spry each collected multiple hits for Coffee County. Spry, Nugent, and Brown each managed two hits to lead Coffee County. Coffee County Red Raiders didn’t commit a single error in the field. Spry had nine chances in the field, the most on the team. 

Caden Czajka led Columbia Central with two hits in three at bats.

Griffin Meeker was named Crazy Daises Player of the game.
