Coffee County boys’ basketball traveled to Winchester on Thursday night to take on Franklin County.
It was a tight game throughout the first half, as the Raiders led 12-11 after the first quarter and 24-19 at halftime. After the third, Coffee County remained in front of the home-standing Rebels 37-31. The Raiders extended their lead to 14 in the second half, only to have Franklin County make a run and cut the advantage to only 4 points. Coffee County (9-9) was able to pull away for good and took the win, 57-48.
Cooper Reed was named the Dr Jay Trussler Player of the Game as he pumped in 24 points for the Raiders. Jackson Shemwell had a solid night with 11, and Cayden Trail hit double-figure scoring with 10. Courtland Farrar chipped in with 9 points, and Jaiden Warren added 3.
The Lady Raiders will play at Webb School in Bell Buckle on Friday night. Both Coffee County teams will be back at home on Tuesday as they host district foe Shelbyville. Hear Tuesday’s games on The Rooster 101.5, www.rooster1015.com, or the Rooster 101.5 app.
