ABOUT UNITED WAY OF HIGHWAY 55
The United Way of Highway 55 believes that all our neighbors deserve a chance to succeed and live a vibrant life here at home. For everyone to have a fair chance to succeed, we support four areas that build a good quality of life and a strong community – education, income, health, and basic essentials.
UWHWY55 is the safest, most effective outlet for donors to make a difference in their community. We raise funds from a variety of individuals and businesses, pooling donated resources so we can make significant grants to nonprofit agencies in Coffee, Moore, and Warren Counties. Donated dollars raised here stay here and are strategically placed where most needed in our community through a thorough allocation process. We also make collaborative efforts with businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals to meet the needs of the community.
WHAT IS TN BENEFIT KITCHEN?
Tennessee Benefit Kitchen is an innovative new service brought to you by United Way. Every year 103 million Americans leave $80 billion in benefits unclaimed. Benefit Kitchen provides families with information, so they can receive the benefits they’ve earned.
Tennessee residents can simply text “Benefits” to 211-211, and they receive a series of screener texts to see what they may qualify for. The screener should take 5-10 minutes to complete. Once completed, they immediately receive notice of tax credits and benefits for which they are eligible, along with the links to apply to each benefit. The tax credits and benefits covered in the screener currently include a wide range of options, from Food Stamps (SNAP) and Cash Assistance (TANF) to the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Home Energy Assistance (HEAP).
Text “Benefits” to 211-211 or visit the online application at https://app.benefitkitchen.com/tool.
