The Coffee County Lady Raiders poured it on the Cane Ridge Lady Ravens to open the 23-24 basketball campaign on Tuesday at The Patch.
Nakayjah Holman came off the bench to score a team-high 20 points and earn the Rooster 101.5 Player of the Game. Natalie Barnes added 15, and Olivia Vinson chipped in with 12.
The Lady Raiders (1-0) will have three games on Saturday as they host a Hall of Fame playday. Coffee County plays Fayetteville at 9 a.m., according to information provided by the school. Coffee County takes on Beech at 4:30 p.m. and Nashville Christian at 6 p.m.
In the boy’s game, Coffee County held the lead for almost three quarters until Cane Ridge grabbed the advantage at the end of 3rd, 39-36. The Raiders battled back to lead 47-46 with 1:27 to go. The Ravens gained the advantage back and went on to win 50-47.
Cooper Reed had a huge night for Coffee County as hit pumped in 23 points and was named the Rooster 101.5 Player of the Game. Jackson Shemwell contributed 11 in the opening game of the season.
The Raiders (0-1) will host Central Magnet at Coffee County Middle School at 12:30 p.m. in the Hall of Fame playday and Portland at 6:30 p.m. The next Rooster 101.5 broadcast is Tuesday, November 21, when the Coffee County basketball teams host Oakland.
