Former City of Tullahoma Human Resources Director Casta Brice is suing her former employer. She is suing for racial discrimination, “extreme retaliation,” and economic and non-economic damages.
She was placed on administrative leave in February 2023 after being Director for 26 years. Her lawsuit filed by Attorney Justin Gilbert says this was done in retaliation from Alderman Kurt Glick. She claims this followed an investigation into Glick’s work when he was Director of the Tullahoma Parks and Recreation department. The suit is 26 pages long.
City Administrator Jason Quick issued a letter to Brice on Sept. 29, 2023, stating that the position of Human Resources Director would be eliminated, effectively ending her employment with the city.
Brice is asking for monetary damages up to $5 million for lost income, including lost wages, loss of health insurance, loss of pension or retirement benefits, and any other payments of employment and extreme damage to her reputation and, more detailed in the suit.
