Head-On Collison in Grundy County takes Two Lives

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) says two women from Grundy County died after a head-on collision Thursday morning on Hwy 56.

The THP report says a car driven by 38-year-old Stephanie McGee of Tracy City was heading north when it crossed over the center line.

Trying to avoid a crash 44-year-old Melanie McCormick, pulled over to the shoulder, but McGee’s car kept crossing the center line, and struck McCormick’s car head-on.

The crash killed McGee and her passenger, 38-year-old Holly Stephens of Coalmont.

McCormick and another passenger were injured.
