In Monday Night District Baseball, Columbia gets past Coffee County

On Monday night, the Columbia Lions defeated the Coffee County Red Raiders 7-5 in District 9-AAAA baseball action at Powers Field in Manchester.

Columbia led 3-0 after the first inning and never trailed in the contest. Coffee County battled hard as they cut the advantage to 6-5 after the fourth before dropping the game.

Cole Pippenger went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored two runs. Nate Rutledge added two RBI for the Raiders.

The two teams will play again on Tuesday at Columbia to wrap up regular season district play.
