Coffee County is participating in the softball Warrior Classic in Murfreesboro, and its bats continue to be red-hot. On Thursday night, the Lady Raiders had 14 hits, leading to a 12-4 win over the Mt Juliet Lady Bears.
Right fielder Ella Arnold was 3-for-3, knocking in 2 runs and scoring twice. Willow Carden had another solid night at the plate with 2 hits, including a triple, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored. Savannah Cooper was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and she crossed the plate once. Chesnie Cox went 2-for-2 and scored 2 times. Kara Wheeler had a double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI, and Pasiley Campbell added a hit and knocked in 3 runs.
Lily Norman picked up the win in the circle as Coffee County improved to 5-0 on the season and outscored their opponents 69-11.
The Lady Raiders play at noon on Friday against Hewitt-Trussville, followed by Gibbs High School at the McKnight complex. On Saturday, Coffee County takes on DeKalb County at 8 AM before leaving for a tournament in Gulf Shores, AL, next week during spring break.
