The Coffee County High School Lady Raiders improved to 24-7 on the season Wednesday night as they won the District 6AAAA tournament championship, 2-0, over Warren County.
The pitching was strong on both sides from Coffee County’s Kaitlyn Davis and Lady Pioneer Kora Forbes. Davis got the win for the Lady Raiders. She went seven innings, allowing no runs on four hits, striking out six, and didn’t allow a walk.
Paisley Campbell, Channah Gannon, Jalyn Moran, and Willow Carden had one hit each for the Lady Raiders. Carden added an RBI, her 47th of the year. She is two away from breaking a team record for one season.
Coffee County’s Davis, Campbell, Chesnie Cox, Carden, Jalyn Moran, Savannah Cooper, Madison Pruitt, and Ella Arnold were named to the All-District team. Davis was named the Pitcher of the Year and Player of the Year. Cox received the Offensive Player of the Year, and Willow Carden was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
The Lady Raiders will host Walker Valley on Monday Night in the Region semifinals.
