Moore County Raiderettes softball falls in heartbreaking matchups in the Mary Vowell Classic
Game 3
Moore County Raiderettes fell to Brentwood 5-4 on Saturday on the final play of the game. The Raiderettes lost despite out-hitting Brentwood eight to seven.
Moore County Raiderettes got on the board in the first inning. Madelynn McLaughlin singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the third inning, Brentwood tied things up at four.
Moore County Raiderettes put up three runs in the second inning. Moore County Raiderettes offense in the inning was led by Gracie Bailey and Anysten Metcalf, all driving in runs in the frame. Brentwood scored four runs in the third inning.
Chloe Brazier was in the circle for Moore County Raiderettes. Brazier went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits and walking zero. Paisley Logan threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.
McLaughlin went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Moore County Raiderettes in hits.
Game 2
Chloe Brazier threw a gem on Saturday for Moore County Raiderettes, allowing zero runs and besting Wilson Central by a score of 1-0
The pitching was strong on both sides.
Brazier toed the rubber for Moore County Raiderettes. The pitcher went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out four.
Madelynn McLaughlin and Brazier each collected one hit to lead Moore County Raiderettes. Moore County Raiderettes didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kendall Dangerfield had the most chances in the field with three.
Wilson Central was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
Game 1
Despite the loss for Moore County the Raiderettes softball team collected six hits to Waverly Central’s five, falling in a 6-4 heartbreaker on Saturday.
Moore County Raiderettes opened up scoring in the first inning. An error scored one run for Moore County Raiderettes.
Waverly Central pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning.
