Raiders drop Regular Season Final; District Tournament begins Friday

In the final regular season game for 2022 Coffee County baseball dropped a hard-fought game to Rockvale on Tuesday in Murfreesboro. The heartbreaker went in favor of the Rockets, 4-3.

The Red Raiders lost despite out-hitting Rockvale six to five. Caleb Moran and Brady Nugent led Coffee County with two hits each. Moran also had two RBI.

Mitch Griffin started the game for the Rockets and picked up the win, He allowed four hits, two runs and Griffin struck out three batters. Jayden “Bird” Fellers suffered the loss in relief for the Raiders.

Next up for the Red Raiders is the District 6-4A baseball tournament at Powers Field. Coffee County the #2 seed (The Raiders shared the regular season title with Franklin County) will take on the #3 seed Warren County on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
