Tullahoma baseball takes two in double header versus Franklin County

Tullahoma Wildcats swept the Franklin County Rebels on Tuesday in a double header.  

In game one the Franklin County Rebels stayed in it until the end, but Tullahoma Wildcats pulled away late in a 7-6 victory on Tuesday. Tullahoma was down 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning when D. J. Dillehay singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. 

Franklin County collected seven hits and Tullahoma had eight in the high-scoring affair. 

The Rebels notched four runs in the fifth inning. Franklin County put the pressure on, lead by singles by McKeon Whitsett, Anthony Seno, and Jacob Hardison and a walk by Cameron Weaver. 

Brody Melton was on the hill for the Wildcats. The hurler lasted four and a third innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out seven. 

Theron Sons was on the mound for Franklin County. Sons lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out seven. Gattis Henley threw one-third of an inning in relief. 

Tullahoma Wildcats smacked two home runs on the day. Dillehay had a long ball in the fifth inning. James Sells put one out in the fifth inning. 

Franklin County tallied seven hits on the day. Dylan Grimes and Seno all had multiple hits for the Rebels. Seno and Grimes each collected two hits to lead the Rebels. 

Tullahoma tallied eight hits in the game. Dillehay, Sells, and Jacob Dixon each managed multiple hits for the Wildcats. 

In game two the Franklin County Rebels fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-1 loss to Tullahoma on Tuesday. Tullahoma Wildcats scored on a double by D. J. Dillehay, a fielder’s choice by Jayron Morris, and an error in the first inning. 

The Franklin County struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Tullahoma, giving up ten runs. 

The Wildcats fired up the offense in the first inning. Dillehay drove in one when Dillehay doubled. 

Tullahoma scored three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Tullahoma was led by Jacob Dixon and James Sells, all driving in runs in the inning. 

William Zebick got the start for the Wildcats. The hurler went six innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out eight. 

McKeon Whitsett went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Rebels in hits. 

Tullahoma scattered ten hits in the game. Dillehay, Sells, and Zebick all collected multiple hits for the Wildcats.
