Tullahoma softball drops heartbreaker to Franklin County

Tullahoma Lady Wildcats fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-2 loss to Franklin County on Wednesday. Franklin County scored on a single by Jalyn Brewer, a double by Summer Hill, a single by Carissa Montgomery, and a groundout by Jacy Dority in the second inning. 

Franklin County pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Brewer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Hill doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, Montgomery singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Dority grounded out, scoring one run. 

Alyssa Sherill was the winning pitcher for Franklin County. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out nine and walking zero. 

Zaylan Spinner took the loss for Tullahoma. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on 11 hits over six innings, walking one. 

Addie Snipes, Kailyn Farrell, Erin Douglas, Spinner, Mallorie Stone, and Alena Martin each collected one hit to lead Tullahoma. 

Franklin County scattered 11 hits in the game. Hill, Montgomery, Emily Jenkins, and Emma Owens each collected multiple hits for Franklin County.
