Two Scam Alerts from Tullahoma Officials

The Tullahoma Recreation Department reports a scammer is circulating fake flyers for events that do not exist, trying to sell booth space and sponsorships, and requesting that vendors PM them for application and payment information.

The current scam is being called “Summerfest” and being advertised in local FB groups. This is NOT a legitimate event.

If you’re unsure about an event, call the Recreation Department to verify before giving out personal information or sending any money. Anyone found creating a scam such as this will be reported to the police.

There is another scam operating in the area. The Tullahoma Police Department that a scammer will call a person and identify themselves as a member of the Tullahoma Police Department.

The scammer will then ask you for a donation to be made to the Tullahoma Police Department. The number may show up on your caller ID as 931-455-0530, which is the Tullahoma Police Department’s phone number. The scammer is using a spoof app to do this.
