Coffee County baseball picks up big win against Central Magnet

Coffee County Red Raiders took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple the Central Magnet Tigers on Friday. The game was tied at six with Coffee County batting in the bottom of the tenth when Braden Brown singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. 

Coffee County earned the victory despite allowing Central Magnet to score four runs in the second inning. The Tigers big inning was driven by singles by Hays and Hopkins and a walk by Hogue. 

Central Magnet took an early lead in the second inning. Hogue drew a walk, scoring one run. 

Red Raiders knotted the game up at six in the bottom of the fifth inning. Coffee County scored one run on a stolen base. 

Brown was the winning pitcher for Coffee County. Brown allowed one hit and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Aiden Robertson threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. 

Apigian took the loss for Central Magnet. Apigian surrendered one run on one hit over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. 

Charlie Pierce started the game for the Red Raiders. The pitcher lasted one and one-third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one Jenkins started the game for the Tigers. The pitcher went two innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out one and walking one 

Red Raiders smacked one home run on the day. Nolan Jernigan had a four bagger in the first inning. 

Jernigan led Coffee County with two hits in three at bats. Red Raiders tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Hayden Hullett led the way with four. 

Lanza went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Central Magnet in hits.
