Coffee County baseball picks up win versus Rossview

Coffee County Red Raiders took the lead late and defeated Rossview 2-1 on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Coffee County batting in the top of the sixth when Hayden Hullett singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Red Raiders pitchers struck out six, while Rossview pitchers sat down seven. 

Rossview fired up the offense in the first inning, when Conner Doughty drew a walk, scoring one run. 

Red Raiders knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning. Jacob Holder’s sac fly scored one run for Coffee County. 

Aiden Robertson was the winning pitcher for Coffee County. The pitcher went five and a third innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out two. 

Keagan Evick took the loss for Rossview. The pitcher surrendered two runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. 

Braden Brown started the game for Coffee County. Brown allowed one hit and one run over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four Doughty started the game for Rossview. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs, walking zero 

Hullett went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Red Raiders in hits. 

Andrew Jordan led Rossview with one hit in three at bats. Rossview didn’t commit a single error in the field. Doughty had the most chances in the field with seven.
