Coffee County basketball picked up a pair of road wins friday night to sweep the series with their country rival Tullahoma.
The girls game was a back and fourth affair with each side swapping narrow leads for the majority of the contest before the Lady Raiders got a timely basket from Olivia Vinson with a minute to play to build a six point advantage. Coffee County sealed the game at the free throw line to secure a 36-30 win, their tenth straight over the Lady Cats.
Chloe Gannon paced the Lady Raider with 15 points, with Vinson adding 14. Tullahoma was led in scoring by Mclayne Bobo with 9.
The Lady Raiders improve to 12-1 on the season while the Lady Cats drop to 3-7.
In the boys contest Tullahoma jumped out to an early 9-4 lead but a 19-6 Coffee County run to close the half put them up 8 at the break. The Red Raiders pushed the lead to 10 early in the third and smothered the Wildcats defensively to pick up at 45-30 win, their fifth straight, improving them to 9-4 on the season.
Jackson Shemwell led Coffee County with 16 points, Tullahoma, who dropped to 2-6 on the season, was paced DeAndre Jenkins with 11 points.
The Lady Raiders are set to face East Nashville today at 11 am in the TN Live Classic at Rockvale, while the Red Raider will take on Harriman in the Outback Classic at Blackman Monday at 11 am.
Both Tullahoma squads will host Shelbyville in another battle of former 8-AAA foes Tuesday.
