Drowning at Normandy Lake on Tuesday Night

Coffee County Sheriff Chad Partin reports that on Tuesday night at 7:20, emergency personnel reported to the scene of a drowning at the boat dock at Normandy Dam.

Edilcer Edilberto Lopez, age 37, of Shelbyville, was trying to retrieve a shoe from the water, and that’s when he fell accidentally into the water. His body was recovered around 9 PM. Sheriff Partin says no alcohol or drugs were involved.

Coffee County Sheriff department personnel, along with the Coffee County Rescue Squad and EMS, responded.
