Jennings Stepping Down as Wrestling Coach at Coffee County

Coffee County Wrestling Head Coach Randall Jennings has resigned his position with the Red Raiders Program citing personal reasons as the cause of his departure.

“This is not something that I anticipated going into this year or that I ever would’ve imagined happening,” Jennings told On Target Sports. “I have recently had some personal and family matters arise that require more of my attention than I would be able to give if I were to remain coaching. I have been a part of this program either as a wrestler or as a coach for the last 16 years and this is by far one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do but it’s what I need to do at this time. I do plan to remain as a coach of our youth wrestling program and continue to grow & develop it the best I can. I have always told my wrestlers that family comes first, and it is time that I take that advice myself. I know they are going to be in great hands with Coach Barlow and look forward to following their progress throughout the season.”

“Randall has done amazing things during his time with our program,” Coffee County Co-Athletic Director Brad Costello told On Target Sports. “The impact he has made on the sport itself and with our athletes will be felt for many years to come.  We hate losing his expertise and his influence, but we absolutely understand his need to focus on his family.  I wish him luck and every fortune in the future.”

Jennings meet with the team Friday to inform them of his decision.

Six Coffee County wrestlers (Olivia Hogan, Haley Redmond, Henry Tate, Michael Colligan, Jason Alvarez, Landon Fisher and Jackson Hurst) qualified for the state individual tournament in 2021.
