Wildcat baseball downs Central Magnet, Lady Cats fall at Cascade

The Tullahoma Wildcats downed Central Magnet 4-1 Tuesday night at Grider Stadium  to sweep the series with the Tigers. 

Jayon Morris limited Central Magnet to one unearned run while scattering five hits across six innings, walking one and striking out 6. For his performance on the mound he was named the Tennessee Homes/93.9 The Duck player of the game. 

Mason Bratcher led the way for the Cats at the plate going 2-2 with a walk an RBI and a run scored. Hunter Hogan and Trevor Cole also recorded RB, Hogan scored a run as wellI. Baylen Tuten stole a pair of bases in route to the first runs of the game  and Cade Fanning pinch running for catcher Colton Emory swiped a bag and scored a run. 

The Wildcats who improve to 18-6 overall and 5-1 in District 8-3A host Lincoln County Thursday night at 6:30. 

Tullahoma softball fell on the road at Cascade 13-5  to drop the season series with the Lady Champions. 

The Lady Cats grabbed the early lead with 2 first inning runs but Cascade responded with five in the second and four in the third to take control of the game. 

Kylee Holt led Tullahoma at the plate going 1-1 with an RBI, a run socred, three walks and two stolen bases. 

The loss drops the Lady Cats to 6-7 on the season. They return to district play Thursday at 5:30 when they travel to Giles County.

Will is a Middle Tennessee native having been born and raised in Winchester. His love of radio began as a child listening to local stations on the way to school or while falling asleep at night. After High School, where he was active in student media, he attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media while covering sports for the campus radio station. He then moved into the business professionally as a board op/producer for Cumulus of Knoxville and the Vol Network. His radio journey then took him to Louisiana where he was the lead producer for ESPN New Orleans. After returning home to Winchester, he spent several years broadcasting local sports for stations in Franklin County before joining the Bowman Family. When he’s not at the station, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Shaina and his two fur babies (Toulouse and Belle), cheering on the Vols, Preds and Saints and in the kitchen or behind the grill trying out new recipes.
