Beau Murray pitched a fantastic game on Friday, as the Coffee County Red Raiders defeated Portland in high school baseball, 11-1. The senior went all five innings, allowing only four hits and one run, and he had four strikeouts.
The running Raiders went wild on the basepaths with eleven stolen bases. Brendon Sheppard, Colter Neel, and Cole Pippenger had two each.
The bats were hot as well. Nate Rutledge, Neel, Blake Hillis, and Brady Daugherty each had two hits. One of Daugherty’s hits was a solo homer. Rutledge and Neel added two RBI each.
The win improves Coffee County’s overall mark to 7-6. The Raiders will play at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville on Saturday. Game one at 12:30 versus Friendship Christian, and in game two at 3 PM, they’ll play the Hendersonville Commandos.
