
A strong thunderstorm powered through Coffee County and nearby counties on Thursday afternoon bringing high winds and heavy rain.
As the storms moved southeast, Duck River Electric Membership Corporation reported more than 1,400 customers without power in Manchester and Hillsboro. Tullahoma Utility Authority also reported several outages in the city.
Rainfall was measured at 4.5 inches since just after midnight Thursday morning. Many streets became flooded on Thursday afternoon, and many trees were uprooted.
