Tullahoma High School Choir Students Receive State and Regional Accolades

Tullahoma High School had three students, Anne Duncan, Wesley Hanson, and Peyton Pinegar, named to the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Southern Regional Honor Choir.

In total, Tullahoma City Schools had seven students represented to participate in their respective ACDA Southern Regional Honor Choirs, while West Middle School had four students qualify, as previously mentioned in a December news release.

In February, these THS students will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to participate in the ACDA Southern Regional Conference. They will join the other members for the three-day conference, which takes place Feb. 21-24.

Tullahoma High School junior Hannah Warta was selected for the All-State Chorus, while senior Anne Duncan was named an alternate. The All-State Chorus will perform at the Tennessee Music Educator’s Annual State Conference at Opryland Hotel on Saturday, April 13.

THS also saw Wesley Hanson, Valerie Pacheco, Aaliyah Morris, Peyton Pinegar, and Elina Spector named to the Freshman Honor Choir. Those students performed with the Freshman Honor Choir on January 25 at Belle Aire Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.

JosEllen Turrentine, Shelbie Penny, Ezekeil Noon, Alex Tobitt, Hannah Warta, and Anne Duncan were also named to the Middle Tennessee Vocal Association Midstate Chorus. The MTVA Midstate Chorus performed last November in Murfreesboro.

“The THS choir program has many extremely talented singers,” said THS Director of Choral Activities Melissa Hinds. “Students have performed exceptionally well at auditions for various ensembles around the state and the country. This is a testament to the student’s hard work and parents’ involvement and dedication to their child’s music education.”
